Every blade in our collection carries a story. Now, those stories have a face.
Relic & Reel is proud to welcome The Art of Don Troiani to the collection. Troiani is widely regarded as one of America's foremost historical military artists, and his paintings are known for their meticulous accuracy: the cut of a coat, the pattern of a musket, the flag carried into battle. It's the same attention to detail our collectors look for in a well-forged blade.
From Lexington to Gettysburg
The collection spans more than a century of American history:
- The Revolutionary War: Minute Man, 1775, Victory or Death: Advance on Trenton, and Redoubt No. 10: Alexander Hamilton at Yorktown.
- The War of 1812: "Our Flag Was Still There": The Defense of Fort McHenry, the night that inspired the national anthem.
- The Civil War: The Black Hats: The Iron Brigade at Gettysburg, Three Medals of Honor at New Market Heights, and more.
Choosing Your Print
Most scenes are offered in three formats:
- Paper prints (from $95): an accessible way to start a collection or give a meaningful gift.
- Canvas giclées (from $550): archival pigment on canvas, with the texture and presence of an original painting.
- Artist proofs: the smallest, most collectible run of each edition. Our centerpiece, "The Allies": Washington and Rochambeau, 1781, is available as a canvas artist proof.
Build the Display
A Troiani print pairs naturally with the steel of the same era. Hang Fort McHenry above a period saber, or set a Revolutionary War canvas beside a colonial-style blade. Browse our Swords and Collector's Attic to complete the wall.
